What do you hope for, right here, right now?

Here are my hopes for you this morning:
- that you will be filled with a spirit of thanksgiving and praise.
- that you will find a new song in your heart, one of glorifying God.
- that you will find a place of prayer, a time of prayer, where you can speak and listen to the Lord.
- that the Lord will open your heart, that you will be inspired to pay attention to the Word of God.
- that you will be filled with the desire to receive with joy the blessings God bestows upon you.
- that you will invite into your homes the presence of Jesus Christ.
- that doing the will of God will make you glad.
- that you will take time to discern the truth, recognize the truth, integrate the truth into your living.
- that you will have the courage, the confidence, the passion to testify to your belief in Jesus Christ.
- that your desire to receive the Holy Spirit will be great.
- that doubts, difficulties, persecutions, temptations will not cause you to fall away from the faith.
- that you will remember the teachings of Jesus Christ and seek to live a faithful Christian life.
- that you will grow in wisdom and understanding.
- that you will always know and trust that God is in your heart.
- that you will become aware of and embrace the moral requirements of a faithful Christian life.
- that you will know how to respond and that you will choose to respond to the frustrations, challenges, and today’s opportunities so as to give glory to God in what you say and do.
- that you will recognize the value of and the mission of participating in the life of the church.
- that you will be sustained in a spirit of charity when confronted by hostility.
- that your life in Christ will bear fruit that endures.
- that you will know when to speak and know when to remain silent.
- that you will find spiritual safety in the face of the prejudices, biases, hatred, and violence of an unbelieving world.
- that you will know peace in your families.
- that you will find enjoyment, not in sin, but in a life of virtue.
- that as you close your eyes tonight in sleep you will rejoice that this day was lived well.

Today’s prayer:  “O Lord, may our faith in Jesus Your Son give us hope and fulfill our deepest longings for loving union with You, both now and forever.  Amen!”
